My son 7.5 months was just diagnosed today and I am beside myself. I don't know what to
expect. The specialist told me there is nothing I can do and that he may get better but will
not get worse. From reading other postings , it seems like I should expect verbal problems
and walking problems yet the doctor gave me no indication of this. We see another
specialist next week and he is going to have a MRI to rule out other problems.
My son , had no birth difficulties, and was basically on time. The only way we became
aware is he shakes his head sometimes as if he is saying no. He also sometimes
looks at objects from the side so to speak. He does have the ability to focus on objects
straight in front of him though, can sit up on his own, can grab things with his
hands, etc. Can someone please email me and tell me CAN I DO SOMETHING or will I continue to feel helpless?
Who is the premier specialist in this field and where can I find him/her. I don't want to sit back and wait if there is anything I can be doing to help him.
It seems that if this is a muscular problem then some therepy's should be available.
