Ms. Wells:
My eight year old son was diagonosed last year with OMA. In addition to his eye problems, he also has speech problems (much better now with therapy) and terrible problems with his writing. In fact, he types many of his assignments on an Alpha Smart keyboard at school. Daniel's testings revealed a very high IQ and he should be reading at fourth grade level. He is in second grade and reads at early second grade level. Fine and gross motor skills are not good. He also has trouble crossing mid-line. (I wish I knew the significance of that.)
I just found this website and am pleased to at last see something on OMA. Have you found any keys in teaching children with OMA? Any help or suggestions will be greatly appreciated.
Gail Work
