Re: I'd like to hear from/about teenagers who have OMA and how they are progressing

My daughter is almost 17, was diagnosed with OMA at 10
months. She has some gross motor problems, and looking
back I can see that she had sensorimotor integration problems
as well. I am somewhat glad that the internet did not exist when
she was small, or I might have worried more about her. She has
done extremely well in school (4.3 GPA, all kinds of honor
classes, etc.) and is an extraordinarily bright person. Our new
challenge is learning to drive. I have not had advice from a
neurologist on this, but may consult. Her peripheral vision is
really bad. I think that because she is so bright, she can
compensate, but I'm wondering if anyone else out there has
experienced this? Anyway, my big message is not to worry so
much....it is not a huge problem in the scheme of things.
