Hi, my name is Korina. My younger sister was diagnosed with Duanes Syndrome when she was 9 months old. She is now 25 months old and has had two surgeries. A third is scheduled for June 7th. My mother and I are having conflicting thoughts on whether or not to have the next surgery done. My mother thinks that its too invasive and painful for such a young age. I believe differently. While I'm sure it is painful, wouldn't it be less traumatic for her to have the surgeries while she is young rather than when she is 13 or older and can be picked on? I personally wouldn't have agreed to even one surgery, but since they have I think that the surgeries should be done as early as possible some feed back would be great and please email me so I can show my mom the benefits on having the surgery while she is still young.
