My son is 8 now and no longer uses sign language. He still attends speech therapy 2 days a week. His articulation has improved to the point where most people understand almost everything he says. He's also reading, although still not at grade level.

I don't have any experience with the driving part yet, but I know my son still has trouble reestablishing focus when he turns his head. He turns his head at a tilt, lines up his sight and readjusts. The doctor says it's much like what a stroke patient would do. I notice lately that his right eye is wandering again. He may need another surgery.

It's great your son is doing so well. I hope he overcomes the problems with driving.
