I am mom to Jason, 2yrs., diagnosed with OMA @ 4 mos. old. I will be travelling to the DC area 3/7-3/12/03 on business and was wondering if there are any OMA families in the area that would be interested in meeting with me. I try to make a practice of meeting other children affected by OMA when I travel as well as get together with the other Atlanta area OMAers on an annual (at least) basis. We've learned so much from each other and have had families visit our group from St. Louis and Los Angeles. I also work for the State of Georgia in their Public Health section and am an avid advocate for children with special needs (especially needs that not alot of people know about like OMA). I have been in contact with the Center for Non-Profits here in Atlanta to discuss establishing a foundation for the research and study of OMA and how is affects children and families. It would be great if there are any families in the DC area that would like to get together with me and talk about their story.
Thanks...deidre
