My daugther is 11 mo old with OMA, diagnosed January of this year. I have tracked this board since that time.
Tonight I took my daugther to the doctor for the third time becuase she had a dislocated elbow. This is the third time in 3 months, the second time in less than a month. The first time I know it happened when I was putting her clothes on. The last 2 times we can't think if any factor that would have caused it. Of course we assume traumatic but there doesn't appear to have been an event. It's almost as if her elbow just slips out of socket. One minute she's using it, the next she isn't. She doesn't even get upset about it either.
As occurs typically with OMA she is gross motor delayed and has low muscle tone. I am assuming that has something to do with it. What I'm wondering is if any other kids with OMA had similar problems. If so please respond. We just don't know what to do to keep this from happening. I hate to assume something happened at daycare (she has wonderful teachers) if there is some underlying musculoskeletal condition that is associated with OMA.
Thanks
