over the past year, my son Niall has started 'flaying' his limbs around when he is playing on his own. I have observed him for quite a long time and it only appears to happen when he is concentrating and in solo plsy. More recently it has happened when he was standing up, where he continually thrusts his head (which we know about) and he seems to straighten his fingers out and lose control of his arms and legs. If I call him he appears to come back to normal. I have spoken to the paediatrician at the London Hospital, but he has never heard of this before and seems to fob me off. I am waiting to see Dr Taylor at Great Ormond Street, as I am getting increasingly concerned and starting to feel like a frantic mother again. Has anyone experienced these symptoms in their child?
